Seafood Nasi Goreng – Every trip to Bali Nasi Goreng is almost there at every meal… Today, let’s make it at home. This Indonesian fragrant fried rice with lobster, squids & prawns is the ultimate comfort food.

WHAT DOES NASI GORENG TASTE LIKE?

Nasi Goreng is different from other Asian fried rice recipes, it has a smoky flavour, slightly sweet because of sweet soy sauce and salty with a kick due to the shrimp paste. The taste of the Nasi Goreng is stronger and spicier compared to Chinese fried rice.

INGREDIENTS

Shallots 3 tablespoon
Chillies 2 tablespoon
Lemongrass 1 tablespoon
Finely chopped Garlic 2
Shrimp paste 1 teaspoon
Soya oil 3 tablespoon
Lobster chunks 70 grams
Baby squids cleaned 70 grams
Medium size prawns 70 grams
Green Beans few pieces
Sweet soya sauce 1 tablespoon
Soya sauce 1 tablespoon
Jasmine rice 1  ½ cup
Whole egg 1
Prawns crackers 6
Cucumber 1
Tomato sliced 2

METHOD OF COOKING 
Step 1

Let’s start by making the mise en place. First in a mortar pestle add the fine chopped garlic, fine chopped onions and chilli. Muddle the combination until you have a sort of thick paste, add the shrimp paste and mix. You can adjust the spiciness of the dish by the type of chillies that you use. 

Step 2

Heat the oil in a wok and fry the eggs “ brow and crisp the edges “ then set aside. Remove the oil from the wok, leaving 2 tablespoons for continue the fried rice. Add the chili paste to the oil, stirring frequently for about 3 to 5 minutes until soften. 

Step 3

Let’s finalize the ultimate Seafood Nasi Goreng. Increase the heat under the wok and add the lobster chunks, squids and prawns, prawns and then toss for a minute or two until the sea food is almost cooked. Add the sliced beans, then the rice and toss well. Drizzle over the sweet soya and soya sauce and mix.

Step 4

Finalize by adding the cooked rice until the rice is coated and lightly toasted. Remove the fried rice to a plate and serve with the sliced cucumber, prawn crackers, tomato topped with a fried egg.
